No, your eyes do not deceive you, the Zagato Perana Z-One is just one consonant (and 300 horsepower, give or take) shy of being a special edition ZR1.
Engineered via a collaboration between Italian design firm, Zagato, and South African automobile manufacturer, Perana Performance Group, the Zagato Perana Z-One is scheduled to make its official debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show. At first glance, the Z-One could be mistaken for high-performance Corvette variant, and to some extent that’s exactly what it is. Underpinned by what appears to be a heavily modified ZR1 chassis, the Zagato Perana Z-One is powered by the same 6.2L V8 LS3 engine found beneath the hood of the post-2008 C6. Thanks to 440 horsepower and a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, Zagato/Perana claim the Z-One is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in under 4 seconds and from 0-100 mph in just under 10.
Expected to hit specialty dealers this summer, production of the Zagato Perana Z-One will be limited to 999 cars with pricing hovering in the $80k range.
