What’s Your Favorite Movie Car?

Mad Max

There are movies, and then there are car movies. If you’re an automotive enthusiast then you know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re not, well then, just go back to watching “Black Swan” or whatever it is you guys watch. A car movie to an enthusiast is like crack to a junkie, as they satisfy our fix and captivate our gear head imaginations. Films like Bullitt, The French Connection and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry have put us in the passenger seat of some of the best car chases ever created. Then there’s Christine, The Car and Maximum Overdrive, movies that have frightened us by using our beloved machines against us. Finally there are those movies whose cars only play a supporting roll, but in the end become more of a character then the actors themselves. Think Gone in 60 Seconds (Eleanor), The Cannonball Run (the Trans Con Medi-Vac) and The Fast and the Furious (Dom’s 1970 Charger). My question to you is this; if you had to pick a single car out of all the automotive movies that you’ve ever seen as your favorite, which one would it be? Think long and hard about this because it’s not an easy choice. Just make sure that you reply in the comments section, because I’m very curious to know what and why you chose the car you chose. Oh and by the way, mines pictured above.

With the exception of exotics, I would say Dom’s Charger. Why? Just look and listen. Thats all the explanation that needs.

  2. Pozz says:

    General Lee…
the idea of running from the cops and going trought anything on the way without any mercy to the car just makes me happy

  3. Peterman says:

Cheesy as it was, as a kid I thought The Wraith was an awesome movie. His immortal car was both strange and mysterious. Maybe not my favorite, but one of my most memorable.

  4. BigRuss says:

ima truck guy and its a tough choice… between the C10 from Dazed And Confused to the pair of trucks from the beginning of Fast and Furious(number 4 for those who dont know)

  7. J D Stadler says:

This is sorta cheezy, but the then-new RX-8 from the second X-Men movie. We were so excited to see it on-screen that we went back and watched the movie again the next day.

  8. Eugene says:

Interceptor from the Road Warrior is up at the top of my list but there is one car that tops it.. and no one mentioned here or at autoholics drum roll…. chopped custom 1950 Mercury Stallone drove in “Cobra”

    -citi never sleeps

  9. Lee says:

Crown Victoria on the TV show Chuck, exactly like mine just the wrong colour…

  10. turbosrt says:

This may seem common but the Delorean DMC-12 from Back to the future. Problem with it is the pathetic volvo engine that made it so slow. Replace the engine with a twin turbo 2JZ or maybe a 2.4Turbo, pick your poison.

Honorable mention – Interceptor from The Wraith, Charger 440 from Deathproof, and the red EVO from Tokyo Drift

  11. jase says:

XB Falcon – the Interceptor. Great choice.

  12. Yokesh says:

“The Wraith” with That Black 1984 Dodge M4S prototype
and then “Christine, The Car” was my favorite till date

  13. turbosrt says:

My best friend said the 1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor from Ghostbusters. LOL
