2010 VW New Beetle

Volkswagen has confirmed that they are winding down production of the New Beetle and New Beetle Convertible. A completely revamped Beetle will be shown at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, in anticipation of a 2012 debut. The new model will use VW’s 2.5 liter five cylinder motor and will come in hybrid version powered by both batteries and a 1.4 liter gasoline motor. VW hasn’t given any indication that the revised Beetle will come in TDI trim.

There’s still plenty of existing Beetles in the pipeline, so there’s no need to hit your VW dealer before you finish your coffee. Still, they won’t be making more, so if you want one of the current version to call your own, don’t procrastinate too much longer.
