Video: Barack Obama Participates In Cleveland Drive-By Saluting
In Cleveland, Ohio, presidential candidate Barack Obama took to a well known, busy intersection to offer a rather stiff greeting to passing motorists. Created by artist Robin Van Leer as part of an Ohio artists’ movement encouraging citizens to get out and vote, the Obama in the video is not Barack-star himself but rather a creatively exaggerated representation. Standing a total of 13 feet high, the Obama puppet bears an uncanny likeness to the popular Senator, from the Windsor knot in his tie to his true-to-scale papier-mâché head.
Enthusiastically embraced by passersby, Cleveland motorists demonstrated an overwhelming support for both Obama and Van Leer’s message with a cacophony of car horns.
