To cap off the big unveiling of GM’s electric hybrid, the Chevy Volt, Bob Lutz appeared on the The Colbert Report last night, generating some seriously funny hype. We’ll give GM/Chevy a lot of credit for the PR move, since The Colbert Report is the perfect vehicle [pun intended] with which to reach their most desired audience, and Colbert’s snarky resistance to the hybrid car movement is the bane of my existence. Triple overtime bonus points were awarded, however, when Bob Lutz demonstrated a surprisingly realistic knowledge of the hybrid car market by agreeing that yes, the Chevy Volt will get you laid, but it will probably be by a crunchy, more “liberated” girl.
