Some people are just inherently talented at what they do and for whatever reason possess a skill set that few others can match. They are not just good, they are the best, and because of this they are able to inspire others to push themselves to their limits. In the same way that Michael Schumacher is synonymous with Formula 1 racing, Valentino Rossi is his equivalent in the sport of Moto GP. His talents and accomplishments over the last decade have simply gone unmatched by his competitors even though he has a bulls-eye on his back at the start of every race.
Ferrari is another name that is synonymous with motor sport and because of this they look to recruit only the best athletes on the planet to represent them. Michael Schumacher ran with Ferrari from 1996 – 2006 and is regarded to be the best driver that Formula 1 has ever seen. Now it seems that Ferrari is eying another world champion in the form of Valentino Rossi.
Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Fiat’s Group Chairman stated that:
We want a third car [in F1 next year] and I would do everything to have Valentino… When he wins this year’s MotoGP, enough is enough, he must also win in Formula 1.
You have to admit that these Italians are passionate people. Rossi is on his way to winning his 10th World Championship in MotoGP and if this happens the question has to be asked… will he make the transition to Formula 1 and Ferrari? We here at Ridelust.com would love to see it, but how about you guys… what do you think?
