A Swiss company called Rinspeed has developed an interesting concept car: an underwater car. Named “sQuba,” the car can both drive on roads, and then – at the push of a button – dive up to 10 meters (33 feet) underwater.
Rinspeed describes sQuba as the world’s first real car to drive both on land and underwater, thanks to some cutting-edge technology. The car has a steel chassis, while its lightweight body panels are made of carbon nanotubes.
This is truly a concept car, but I can see some folks actually wanting one of these like my old neighbor who has been chasing the elusive trout in the dredge pond down the road. We could drive the car in to take a closer look to see where the trout are hiding and drop our lines out the window.
