TX Police Unite, Call Thunder Down Upon Traffic Offenders
In Dallas County, TX, the local government has expanded its use of the public notification system to alert the public to sex offenders as well as the dregs of humanity themselves: traffic violators. Announced on Monday by the Dallas Morning News, the new online database is intended to “crackdown on deadbeats” and provides the full name and fine amount of Dallas’ Top 50 Most Wanted traffic offenders. In addition, a nifty new feature also provides non list-worthy motorists the privilege of searching the database for their own rap sheet so that they themselves may pay their fines in a timely manner, lest Dallas SWAT be forced to initiate a pre-dawn raid on their double-wide.
Admittedly a direct response to the budget crunch Dallas is currently experiencing, County officials expect the new online message board to significantly aid the County in collecting the estimated $194.4 million dollars in unpaid traffic fines currently owed by delinquent drivers.
