The “backing out of the garage” story, in my opinion, is even more ridiculous than the Sikes story. How many people even both to TOUCH their gas pedal backing out of the garage, let alone mash it to the floor where it “got stuck?”

You read my mind, with 2 back to back problems with vehicles that have not had a history of this problem appears to an opportunity to make money via Toyota Motor Company. All folks that are making claims should be thoroughly investigate, specifically, credit history, debt history, net worth, etc. Too many folks are looking for a free lunch.

Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking people are taking advantage of the situation. Blogs everywhere is beating this issue to death. Tim Sikes’ incident was a total fraud imo. His comment of “I’ll never drive that car again” is so and staged the way he says it.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m highly suspicious of Jim Sikes.. As well as a few of the cases that have popped up. Funny how so much time has gone by and this was never an issue, and now it’s just happening left and right. I wonder if “stuck pedal” is what people are blaming their “poor driving” on these days… Women have been crashing through buildings for years now, mistaking the gas pedal for the brake, or some other lame excuse. Now they have the grand daddy of excuses — toyota’s faulty stuck throttle………

Also, why are these drivers so ignorant that do they not realize you can put a car in neutral at any speed and apply the brakes? Really?
