Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Special Edition

The “Trail Teams” Special Edition is more than just a tip-of-the hat to Toyota’s nationwide 4-wheeling education and promotional program, but the recipient of a number of uprated performance options added to the already off-road capable FJ Cruiser.  If you want one, I hope you like white.

From the first inception of the FJ Cruiser, Toyota gathered some of the most knowledgeable members of the off-roading community to crisscross the nation, attend competitions, events and to meet up with Toyota off-roading clubs.  Official off-roading groups, despite the often negative stereotypes that surround off-roading, educate new members to the activity and promote safe and family-oriented enjoyment and preservation of the environment and land use.  Now this collection of off-roaders has helped create the Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruiser.  Sporting an exclusive Iceberg White exterior, black bumpers and side mirrors, this Special Edition also features a locking rear differential, the A-TRAC traction control system, and upgraded Bilstein® shock absorbers.   Other Toyota Racing Division options include a TRD exhaust system, matte black TRD alloy wheels and a unique TRD shift knob.  Inside, the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition’s standard features include a leather-trimmed steering wheel with audio controls, white color-keyed door trim and instrument panel trim, AM/FM six CD/nine-speaker audio system with MP3 player and 12-volt and 115-volt auxiliary power outlets.  Additional standard equipment on the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition include trail-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers, BF Goodrich Rugged Trail Tires with custom 16-inch TRD alloy wheels, Cyclone air cleaner, rear differential lock and A-TRAC, TRD exhaust system, rock rails, all-weather floor mats, front bumper-mounted auxiliary lights, and front and rear skid plates.  Carried over from other FJ modes is a 4 liter V6 engine that produces 239 horsepower, 278 ft lbs of torque and achieves 16 and 20 mpg in city and highway driving.  Cost for the Trail Teams Special Edition package is an additional $4,755 above the $23,725 base price of the FJ Cruiser.  For those that are concerned with being the only one on the trail with his particular ride, there is a degree of exclusivity to be had as only 3,200 will be available this year for purchase.
