I stumbled upon this beautiful toy car parking garage over at RalfBecker.com and just had to post it up as it is probably the coolest one I’ve ever seen. It looks to be constructed entirely out of metal and with its many intricacies, it could no doubt keep a kid happy for hours. What’s really intriguing to me about this little garage is the level of detail that has been built into it. Each level comes complete with red railing, transparent plastic windows, storage garage and spiral ramp entrance. There is also a nifty little hand crank elevator that can be used for transporting your little four-wheeled buggies from top to bottom. Pretty cool right?
According to the eBay ad from which it stems (which is in French btw), this toy parking garage was released in 1957 to the public and is quite rare. Just stop and look at the pictures for a moment and think about how toys today are nowhere near as intricate. Hell, the more I look at this the more I want to buy it to put in my living room.
Present this to any little boy and you’ll actually be able to see his imagination start to work. This is the type of toy that makes you think back to when times were a bit simpler with no electronics and no internet. Just you, some toy cars and your imagination… good times I tell ya’, good times.
