Attention techno-Luddites: Top Gear season 15 starts next Monday, September 27, on BBC America. Program your VCRs (since you probably don’t own a DVR) or tie a string to your finger, whatever you need to remind yourself to tune in to BBC America on Monday nights at 9:00 PM Eastern. If you actually embrace modern technology, chances are you’ve seen most of these episodes already, but there’s no such thing as too much Top Gear.
Season 15 aired in the UK from June though August 2010, and featured reviews of cars ranging from the Porsche Boxster Spyder through the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport. Stars that you’re likely to recognize in the “reasonably priced car”, now a Kia Cee’d, include Andy Garcia, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, and Jeff Goldblum. Other highlights of the season include a tribute to Ayrton Senna, who would have turned 50 in 2010, Rubens Barichello breaking the Stig’s lap record in the Suzuki Liana, meeting the Stig’s German cousin and the now infamous Toytoa Hilux volcano exploration challenge.
Enjoy “Ben Collins as The Stig” for one last season, since he’ll be gone from the show in Season 16. Also, we have Top Gear America to look forward to when the BBC show ends, but the History Channel still isn’t telling us when the U.S. version will air. Stay tuned, and we’ll let you know as soon as we hear.
