If you’re a fan of TK, here’s some good news: the driver won’t be hanging out at a street corner near you with a sign reading, “Will race for food”. Kanaan has landed a full-season ride for 2011 with one of the best (but under-funded) teams in the series: KV Racing. Kanaan will become a teammate to Takuma Sato and E.J. Viso, and will drive the number 82 Lotus sponsored Dallara Honda in honor of Jim Clark’s win at the 1965 Indy 500. Kanaan was released from Andretti Autosport due to lack of sponsor funding (and despite the fact that he had three years remaining on a contract), and originally expected to race for Gil de Ferran’s team in 2011. That deal fell apart, thanks again to lack of sponsorship, earlier this year.

Kanaan will have his work cut out for him in 2011. KV Racing scored just two top five finishes in the 2010 season, and their highest ranked driver was Mario Moraes, who finished the season ranked 15th. Moraes isn’t listed on KV Racing’s roster for the 2011 season, so it’s likely that the young Brazilian will be in search of a full time ride himself.
