BangShift recently posted a bunch of circle track spectator drag videos, and this is the best of the lot. In case you don’t know what a circle track spectator drag is, it’s simple: two race fans go head-to-head against each other for one lap in their street cars, and the first to cross the finish line wins. Other than bragging rights and the admiration of your friends and family, winners don’t get a thing. There is no prize money, oversized trophy or contract with Penske Racing awaiting the guy who crosses the finish line first.
That makes this destruction all the more senseless, but here’s the lesson to be learned: never throw down your $30,000, 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 against someone with a $500 Chevy Blazer and nothing to lose. That attempted PIT maneuver was no accident, and the guy with the Jeep will either be paying for the $5,000 in damage out of his own pocket or committing insurance fraud. He’s certainly not going to get a dime out of the assnozzle in the Blazer, who deserves to be pulled from his truck and beaten unconscious by an angry mob armed with ball-peen hammers. If you’ve got the coin to buy and drive a Grand Cherokee SRT-8, you’ve got the money to buy a beater to race in. Learn from this guy’s mistake.
