The MR2 Connection: Petrolicious

Toyota MR2

I saw my first second generation Toyota MR2 in 1989 and upon first glance, had no idea what it was. Ferrari, Lotus perhaps? Then I saw that little Toyota badge and stood there dumbfounded. How did Toyota build a car like this? It was mid-engine, with some of the best body lines I’d ever seen, and it was literally stopping people in their tracks. This was an under appreciated car back then and even still today. Thankfully though Petrolicious was able to find a small group of Texas based owners who still covet these cars the way they should be.

The Mr2 is a good base model and there are some ferrari replica body kits available for thse cars which actually transform the look making it seem like a ferrari. Top gear recently did a segment on this. I have always loved the shape of these affordable supercar looking cars.
