It must’ve been 1981 or 1982 when I first saw the BMW E24 6-Series in person. It was low, sleek and champagne in color. The moniker on the rear deck-lid read 635CSi which to me, meant nothing at the time. All I knew was that it was one of the most beautiful cars I’d ever seen. Built from 1976-1989 the BMW E24s are not only considered to be one of the most beautiful shapes ever to come out of Bavaria, but also one of the most underrated cars the company has ever produced. Powered by an inline-6 cylinder engine, power ratings ranged from 181 hp in 1978, all the way up to 282 hp for the M6s built from 1983-1989.
