The Best Time To Buy A Car Is September (or December)

September is the best month to get a new car
People often ask us “when is the best time to buy a new car?” Obviously, this question implies that the best time is the time when you can get the best deal. In other words, during which month are car dealerships most likely to give out great deals and discounts.
Typically, September is the best month to buy a new car. Why? Because car dealers start getting new inventory in September and are eager to get rid of last year’s models. If you wait until September, you’ll often be able to get a 10-20% bargain.
The fact of the matter is that September through December is considered the clearance sale period for the previous year’s models. September is the month during which you’ll get the biggest discounts because it jumpstarts the clearance season, and all efforts are made to get rid of inventory as quickly as possible. After September, December is probably the best month because it’s a last ditch attempt to get rid of the majority of leftover inventory as they move into a new year.
