And of what significance are these stats to the average or slightly above (or below) average rider? The weight of the brass balls you need to ride any of these bikes to their limit will significantly affect the horsepower to weight ratio.

I am sure that teh hindas weight that you have there is the wet weight, versus the dry weight of the others..

Also, the power figures you have there do not take the ram air effect into account. In this respect, the yamaha seems to have the biggest vents. Obviously this would not be the entire story, since the effectiveness of those vents in getting all that air into the cylinders would be of the most importance.

What about a few other stats? Like: Which bikes have ESP, which have ABS, pull off control, ignition modes, etc

This is an awesome stats page. Great work!

I am really excited about the 2009 line up.

I have been watching the RSV4 since the anouncement and photos of the race bike leaked out. Now that the production model is out of the wrapper it looks even better.

I was watching for Ducati to make some extra cranks like the 1098R models and make a 1198.. They did not let me down,

For me it is between an 1198s and a RSV4 when I sell my 996 Bip.

A friend who has a R1 a few years old was saying he thought the way the v-twin puts its power out as compared to his inline was not an advantage. I schooled him about the new R1 and its cross plane crankshaft vs earlier models and how its new firing order is now just like a v-twin..
