It looks like Christmas is coming early this year for those who have been lusting after the eagerly awaited 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. A few months ago I actually managed to get up close and personal with this two-door monster while attending the IMPA test day up at Bear Mountain in Bear Mountain, NY. I must say that aside from having a rather large rear end, this is one hell of a nice car. Aimed at a more youthful audience than the standard four-door, the new CTS-V coupe will hopefully bring some people into showrooms that may never have thought of themselves as Cadillac drivers.
Right now the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant is running at full production and has already started shipping cars to dealers across the United States. The CTS Coupe will come in two models. The base model will be powered by a 3.6-liter 306 HP V6 with direct injection and the CTS-V Coupe will get the 6.2-liter 556 HP supercharged hammer. Prices start at $38,990 for the base model and $62,990 for the “V”.
