Steve Saleen Steps Up To Honor Voided Warrantees

Showing what a standup guy he is, Steve Saleen, most notably the tuner of a variety of Mustang spawns, has said that his new venture SMS Supercars will honor the warranties on some of the products that bear his name, something the new owners of his former company said they wouldn’t do.

This follows on the heels of the purchase of Saleen Inc. by MJ Acquisitions earlier this year, MJ Acquisitions said last month that it would honor only warranties for Saleen products bought on or after Feb. 2. This would not have included the countless Saleen vehicles still sitting on Ford dealer lots. No doubt that the displeased Saleen said he’ll honor warranty claims on products purchased up to Feb. 2, 2009, under the terms of his new company, SMS Supercars in Southern California. It should be noted that Saleen’s new company was under no obligation to do so.

Since Saleen’s departure in 2007, the company has changed hands twice, first to Hancock Park Associates, and now to MJ Acquisitions. While details of the deal were not released, two of the more exciting elements of Saleen Inc. were not included: the S7 and S5 Raptor.

  1. I have never been a fan of American cars but there has been one that has always caught my eye and that would be the Mustang. From the older models right up to the new ones there is just something about this car that I just love. Its a mans man car, but on the other hand, women can look just as hot behind the wheel too.
