Sportec does to the Porsche 911 Turbo what whip cream does to the Banana Split. They take a perfectly sculpted performance machine and treat it to some sweet toppings to add to the sweet delight. Ofcourse it is hard to call something with 580-hp sweet, but when you take a car from its stock horsepower of 480 and boost it with an extra-100-hp what more can you say? …Besides, “Waa-hooooo…”

Porsche Sportec SP580The Sportec treatment comes with an improved and lowered suspension, turbochargers, high performance exhaust with a sport catalyst, sport clutch and improved computer programing to boost the output of the 3.6 liter engine even more. The interior receives some optional Alcantara upholstery and aluminum foot-pedals. Oh, they also throw in 19″ or 20″ rim upgrades and some nice Sportec floor mats.
All these enhancements meld together to mete out a zero-to-62 of 3.4 seconds which is a full half second faster than the production 911 Turbo.

The Sportec upgrade to the Porsche 911 Turbo is priced at 21,000 Euros, which would net out to somewhere around $28,000 American. But if you are already shopping for a new Porsche Turbo with its starting price of $130,000 what’s another $28,000 for an extra 100-hp and sweet tweaks?
