Chomping at the bit to break free from the heavy camouflage and remind the 2010 Camaro what its up against, the 2010 Ford Mustang has been eating up more publicity then the Shannon twins this week as both spy shots and official teaser photos began to hit the interwebs. Not scheduled to make its debut until the ‘08 LA Auto Show in a few weeks, the 2010 Mustang is more a “strategic” update than anything else.

Not intended to undergo a massive overhaul until the 2012 model year, the only noticeable changes the 2010 Mustang will be sporting are new “Powerbump” hood, more defined hard-top, and a redesigned pony badge. Personally, I don’t find the barely-detectable makeover to be especially remarkable, but I still find it appealing. The subtle difference are just enough to appease demanding Mustang fans and keep the new Camaro in its place, and even if the new ‘Stang winds up having some grotesque accessory like a CRX spoiler, it will still never be as ugly as the 3rd Gen Mustang – so it’s got that going for it.
