Spy Shot of the Tesla Model S

Possibly looking to ensure potential customers that Tesla still intends to compete as a viable part of the auto industry, a pre-production photo of the upcoming “budget” Tesla, the Model S sedan. In light of the recent astronomical downsizing Tesla has experienced at the hands of CEO Elon Musk, there was reason to doubt the future production potential of the independent automaker.

Although official manufacture of the Tesla Model S has been pushed back a full six months to 2011, Tesla SVP Darryl Siry says a completed version of the Model S is tentatively scheduled to be unveiled next spring.
