2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
There are car guys and then there are car guys: when you think of rap and hip-hop stars, I’ll bet most of you think “posers who own a Ferrari or a Lamborghini just for their image”. After watching this video, I have to give serious props to Sir Mix-A-Lot; not only is he a bona fide gear head, but the man even speaks our language. “Carz” has something for everyone, with rhymes like “my car’s got miles – garage queens, that’s YOUR style”. Even Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood’s got to dig the line “turn off my phone, hear THESE tones”. I wonder if he’ll license the video for an upcoming PSA?
Like Sir Mix-A-Lot, I love these cars and I also like big butts (I cannot lie). I do believe that’s Gary Numan’s “Cars” he’s sampling in the background, which earns him bonus points in my book for the nod to history. Thanks to my buddy Malcolm at Automotive Addicts for the tip, and do I even need to tell you the video isn’t safe for work due to language?
I had no idea Sir Mix A Lot was still bustin’ about raps. The only song of him I know is the “I like… and I cannot lie” song… He’s still hustling after all these years.
