Should Kyle Busch be banned from racing?

Kyle Busch Crash

It’s often said that racing is a gentleman’s sport, however this past weekend Kyle Busch proved this was indeed, incorrect. You see Busch has a temper, so much so that it seemingly gets him into hot water just about everywhere he goes. For instance, this past weekend at Texas Motor Speedway Busch intentionally plowed fellow driver Ron Hornaday’s truck into the wall after he was rubbed by Hornaday just moments earlier. The contact was simply malicious and because of this NASCAR suspended him from Friday’s race as well as the weekends races in the Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup series.

So, the question is this; should Kyle Busch, a man with known malicious behavior towards other drivers, be booted from racing all together, OR should he be allowed to continue because he adds an element of unpredictability to the sport. Whatcha’ think?

His behavior has too much of a chance at getting someone killed. He needs to either change or quit.

Park him for the year. I could write a novel on the subject, but basically the guy has bought into the media hype that he’s the next Dale Earnhardt. The only problem? …he isn’t. His reaction given that situation borders on psychotic. Hornaday lost the air off his spoiler, got loose and hit him…..it happens. If he was retaliating to some kind short-track beatin’ and bangin’ on the last lap of race, I could understand the anger. But this is a person who doesn’t quite understand the stakes. Have him talk to Jackie Stewart or Sterling Moss or any other driver who knows what it’s like to go to more funerals than races.

    Ban him for life.

now i think that banning him for life might be a too hard punnishment but a severe fine and parking him for a year sounds about right. now as i dont watch nascar and oval track racing i dont know how many warnings he has gotten or if he has done anything as dangerous as this before, but you have to remember that even with the modern rollcages and crashharnessess crashes at these speeds arent like your fairground bumpercars.

Racing is dangerous enough as it is. Ban him. If you feel generous, make it a 1 year ban the first time with a lifetime banishment for any repeats.

My opinion… Kyle Bush should not be allowed to race. I don’t watch this type of racing but 33 could have been seriously injured just be cause Bush decided to act like a spoiled child and throw a temper tantrum. Granted 33 should have had control of his car but this is completely uncalled for. He doesn’t get punished and maybe next time he will kill somebody.

  7. banning for life might be a little to much right now but I would definatly put it in his ear any more yellow hits or taking out someone thats in the run in points he will be out. he should be watched for the rest of his racing career, or maybe take away his first 1000 points next year

Kyle needs to be kicked out of racing before he kills someone. As a huge Nascar fan I recongnize his awesome talent , but he needs to control his temper!! Pay back is one thing ,but not at 100+mph and Ron didn’t even deserve it.It was racing.
