Rumors of a new Mercedes supercar called the SLC have been around for a while now, but just recently, Drive.com.au caught some spy shots of a prototype with is gullwing doors open.
Apparently, the 21st-century version of 1950s Mercedes 300SL ‘Gullwing’ will go on sale in 2010 – with the goal of matching the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron. That’s a pretty substantial goal, and it’ll have a pretty substantial pricetag: $650,000.
Let’s put that in perspective. The Bugatti Veyron can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds, and hits a top speed of 250mph. Even though the the Mercedes will probably be limited at around 200mph, they’re still looking to match it’s the Veyron’s acceleration performance. Good Luck with that.
is that a PA tag on that thing?
hey Jay
