Biker Eats Asphalt In Front of Cop – Watch more Funny Videos

Sometimes you’ve just got to suck it up and take the ticket. Sure, this guy would have gotten popped for speeding (and maybe reckless driving or exhibition of speed), but instead he tossed his bike AND probably got written up for all of the above. Remember, boys and girls: brake before the corner, not at the apex. If you have to brake mid-corner, do it gently since you may already be pushing the limits of your tires’ traction.

Truth be told, if I’d come around the same corner in the same situation, I’d probably do the same damn thing. Tapping brakes when you see the police is a pretty hard habit to kill, even when dragging a knee. The one time I’ve been down it was from tapping the front brake in a corner and washing the front tire out. It HURT. Lesson learned, I was lucky enough to get away without and attention from the local cops.

Can we have a national ad campaign about refraining from braking in corners? I know that it’s not something most drivers think about, but as a rider it drives me nuts to straighten up and check the brakes when someone ahead is nailing the stoppers on their car mid-corner, (esp. on a 7 story interchange ramp). Brake before, accelerate out!

Hell, I’d be happy if drivers could just grasp the “slower traffic keep right” principle. Asking them not to stand on the brakes in a corner would probably make their heads explode.
