I love simplicity. I mean I REALLY love it. The problem is that in today’s automotive society simplicity can be a bitch to find. Cars today are rolling computers with more technology crammed into them then the flippin’ space shuttle. They tell us where to go, what to do and when to do it and truth be told it’s really annoying. Even with all the technology that cars now offer there are still those who feel the need to bring more techno-gadgets into their vehicles. Cell phones, iPods and digital cameras are all things that are wonderful and harmless on the outside, but put them in a car and well… bad things can happen. Understand that when you’re in a car, behind the wheel, your ONLY job is to drive it. Keep your hands on the wheel, your eyes front and concentrate on not killing yourself or those around you. Start fiddling with extraneous gadgets and you’re just asking for trouble. Hopefully this video will serve as a wake-up call to those who feel the need to do more then just drive.

My parents recently bought a 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport despite my disagreement and it is equipped with Stability control, Traction control, and the roll sensing side airbags. I have never felt so unsafe in a vehicle. Opon testing it with my father we entered a parking lot and a simulated a drift. The whole dash lit up, started beeping and sent us into the snowbank. Then after locking 4wd and backing out I tried it again and simply let go of the wheel and the truck straightened itself out. WTF SO IF YOU DRIVE LIKE TRASH IT WILL SAVE YOU BUT IF YOU ARE A DECENT DRIVER IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT? This has further affirmed that the world is coming to an end. Zombie apocolapyse……….bring it on.

As far as distractions go. The modern safety tech will kill you just as fast as the fancy toys tech.
