Porsche Panamera Receives Humorously Obscene Trailer Hitch

Although we didn’t think it possible, the new 4-door Porsche Panamera has reached an even higher level of homoerotcism with the introduction of its newest accessory: an electronically-retractable towing hitch. Aside from the picture, the only information available on the new gadget is that it will feature the abilitiy to be completely “hidden” once retracted into a space beneath the rear bumper.
Now, many of our esteemed colleagues within the auto blogging industry have elected to take the high road with this particular story, tactfully refraining from pointing out the extremely obvious phallic symbolism within the photograph. Foruntately for us, we sincerely doubt that anyone expects such elements of class from a blog named “RideLust.”
Our first contention with the tow-hitch actually comes from a purely practical standpoint – who the hell is using a Panamera to tow something? Even if you’re planning a luxurious weekend cruise with your new cigar boat, there has to be at least one guy on your mansion staff with a Chevy 2500 and a trailer hitch. Our second issue with the Panamera’s tow hitch is completely aesthetic and, as we alluded to before, a direct result of our emotional development routintely stalling in junior-high-school-boy gear. The Panamera itself already bears an uncanny resembleance to the Ambiguously Gay DuoCar, and the addition of this retractable tow-hitch is not helping distance the Panamera from that image.

Is the button to extend/retract the hitch labeled “Flaccid/Excited”?
It is getting to the point where I am beginning to think Porsche design engineers are just playing a joke on their bosses and, consequently, the world.
