Beleaguered with financial woes and the unfortunate death of their CEO, specialty automobile designer Pininfarina could use a jolt, and that’s exactly what they plan to give themselves. According to Autopia, Pininfarina is moving forward with plans to produce an all-electric car, which they will unveil later this week at the Paris auto show.

Perhaps looking to shield themselves from criticism earlier concept vehicle, the Blue Car EV, Pininfarina is keeping details on the impending electric car scarce. Amid the hype, Pininfarina has cautiously reminded industry buffs that the 4-door car to be debuted in Paris will only be a prototype, the production model won’t appear until March at the Geneva auto convention.
