The PG-Bikes BT-01 is a purpose-built electric bike wrought in carbon fiber, aluminum, and fine English leather. The wicked steed was designed by PG-Bikes of Germany and engineered by F1 engineering firm UBC. The thing weighs a scant 44 pounds, with is amazing considering the big honkin’ battery pack wedged into its frame. It rocks high-tech Varus carbon-fiber wheels, disc brakes, and a classic Brooks leather saddle. The 48-volt drive train puts out about 1.6 horsepower and charges to 80 percent in 30 minutes. Oh, and it tops out at about 60 miles per hour. This thing must be a blast to ride and it’s simply stunning to look at. Unfortunately, the BT-01 is priced at a ridiculous €59,000—about $76,000 at current exchange rates.
