Peraves MonoTracer: The Cabin Cycle Jet Bike

The old cabin cycle streamlined motorcycle is back, this time in the form of the MonoTracer, built by a company called Peraves. The completely enclosed shape drastically cuts down on drag and increases speed, but it seems like an incredibly claustriphobic space to be in. Plus, relying on those little training wheels to deploy during stop and go city traffic seems a bit more failure prone than just using my feet.

It looks like something Patrick McGoohan would drive in an episode of The Prisoner. There is no escape, Number Six.

It’s 130hp BMW engine and low drag can boost it from zero to 60 in about 5.7 seconds, and top it out at 155 mph, which, granted, is pretty cool. But at $82,350 dollars a pop, I’m thinking only Patrick McGoohan could even afford to splurge on one these days. Is he even still alive?

Reinforced BMW-shaft drive. 3 brake discs 320 mm Ø with 4-piston-hydraulic calipers, fully integrated electronic ABS. Ceramic brake discs and brake pads, ASP anti spin control optional. Electrical stabilizer servo system, computer-supervised with cycle-time < 0,5 sec. Semi-automatic, hydraulically operated softmode system optional.

RECARO-contour-seats with 3-point-automatic-safety belts. Interior covers in high-tech-tissues and sound proofing padding. Air-conditioned + heated ventilation system of ample flow with intake air filter. GPS-RDS-4LSP-audio-system. Tempomat cruise control, frontal airbag, Bi-Xenon-lights, CD-players optional.

    Almost 3 years I tried to make my dream be truth. But know i see an incredible picture like my dream. It’s prefect!!!!
    But the price so expensive. Hopefully will reduce so i can buy.
