Dogs in Cars = Slobber on Windows

Posted in Best of, FAIL / Funny, Funny, General, News, Videos by MrAngry | May 7th, 2012 | 2 Responses |

Cars and Dogs

When I see dogs hanging out of the windows of automobiles all I can think of is the amount of slobber that the owner is going to have to clean off the upholstery. Now granted, I know they get a big kick out of the wind in their face and all, but I find it to be a bit much. Knowing however that he majority of the human population loves these K9s though has prompted me to post this video.

Enjoy.

MotorWeek 2012 Lexus LFA

The Lexus LFA… remember that? It seems like only yesterday that the world was going completely insane over this V10 wonder from Japan. It had a $500,000 price tag, a top speed of over 200 mph and was limited to only 500 units. Well now the Lexus LFA is back and Motorweek has apparently figured out how to get their hands on one, which is good, because everything else in the Lexus lineup is boring as hell. Click through for video and enjoy.

Getting Ready for the 2012 One Lap of America

2012 One Lap of America

Well it’s that time of year again, time to get ready for another edition of the One Lap of America. This will be my third consecutive running of the event and there’s no question that it gets better and better every year. The One Lap is not for the faint of heart. In fact it’s one of the toughest open road events you can do. The event consists of running 8-9 race tracks over an 8-day period while at the same time covering around 3,500 miles. You’re at the track at 7am, racing until 2pm-3pm in the afternoon and then jumping back in the car (barring you don’t wreck) and then hitting the road for a quaint 300-600 mile drive to the next track. Sleeping is not really an option as you’ll only get about 2-3 hrs per night and eating, well, that’s secondary as well. The menu in our car usually consists of powdered donuts, red bull, beef jerky, granola bars, water and a shitload of 5-hour energy (trucker crack).

Would you rebuild or buy new?

Posted in Best of, Dodge, Domestic Rides, News, People, Pop Culture, Rides by MrAngry | May 5th, 2012 | 2 Responses |

Charger Crash

As most of you know I am the proud owner of a 1968 Dodge Charger. It’s a car that I wanted since childhood and back in 2003 I was finally able to make it happen. Since then I’ve done A LOT of stuff with that car. I’ve been on TV, driven it across the country six times, raced it and even drove to my wedding in it. In short, this car is a part of our family and the memories I have because of it are priceless. A buddy recently asked me if something were to happen to it whether I’d rebuild it or buy something new, and without hesitation I said- rebuild. For it was a total no-brainer, but for others the answer may not be so easy. So I’m curious, if you owned a car that was very special to you and your family, would you re-buy or re-build?

Why Quad Bikes Are Awesome – RIDEAPART

RideApart

Four wheels like a car, but handlebars and a saddle like a motorcycle. With quad bikes, it’s almost like someone took the most awesome part of driving — drifting — and combined it with the most exciting thing about riding dirt bikes — jumping — to create a vehicle with a single purpose: hooning. Grant and Wes take off into the OHV park of Hungry Valley in the Los Padres National Forest on board Suzuki Z400s and a King Quad to try and get as dirty as possible. – Wes Siler / RideApart

Track-N-Go Track Turns Trunk Into Snowmobile

Posted in auto industry, Best of, FAIL / Funny, General, News by MrAngry | May 4th, 2012 | 3 Responses |

Track-N-Go

Tracked add-on’s for off-road vehicles have been around for quite some time. Want to turn your quad into a tank? No problem. How about your GMC Sierra into a snowmobile? Well, that’s not a problem either. The big question though is, why? I mean I understand wanting to branch out, but these contraptions are not cheap. In fact I can almost guarantee that buying the real thing (a snowmobile) would probably be a cheaper and more satisfying endeavor all together. However if you’re one of those people who want to be different and go against the grain, well then, so be it. Just don’t yell at us when your 7,000 lb pickup gets stuck in the snow.

Motel 6 Transforms Autos on the Run

Posted in Best of, General, News, Pop Culture, Videos by MrAngry | May 4th, 2012 | Leave a Reply |

If you’ve ever driven down a busy interstate in the United, you know about Motel 6. You see they’ve provided comfort for weary travelers, vacationers and adventurers for over 50 years. Now granted, hitting up a Motel 6 is not the same as staying at the Ritz, but when you’ve just driven a 900 mile day, let me tell you, they can look pretty damn good. Recently they released this commercial which took a little inspiration from none other than Michael Bay. I mean hell, if he can create Transformers, so can they right?

Free Riding in Rio – Red Bull Trial X Sessions

Free Rider Julien Dupont

In the realm of mechanized sport there is no question that Free Riding is up there with the toughest of them. The idea is simple – take a single cylinder motorcycle, make it lightweight and construct it in such a manner that it’s literally able to leap just about any object in a single bound. Now obviously the rider has a lot to do with it, but even so, watching a professional do their thing on one of these machines is truly a sight to behold. French rider Julien Dupont recently took to the rooftops and back alleys of Rio de Janeiro’s Vidigal community in the hopes of shooting one of the best urban trials videos ever created. We think he succeeded. Click through and check it out.

MX-5 against BRZ and FR-S at Twin Ring Motegi

SubaruBRZ Toyota F86

As of right now the Subaru BRZ and Toyota FR-S are the darlings of the automotive world. They’re front engine rear-wheel drive configuration means they’re a blast to drive. Combine that with a stout Subaru derived boxer-four and a great suspension and well, these little buggers have “track day” written all over them. Best Motoring recently pitted the Mazda Miata against these two new comers at the Motegi Ring in Japan and while they didn’t crush the Miata by any means, they didn’t disappoint either.
