Over 6k 2010 Camaros Already Sold, Huge Run On Chewing Tobacco Imminent

While Corvette sales continue to tank, the media-drenched, over-hyped 2010 Camaro is reporting record success. According to sales figures, a whopping 6,000 2010 Chevy Camaros have already been pre-ordered, 84% of which have been for the high-performance Camaro SS V8. To break down the numbers of orders by model, the sales percentages are as follows:

Camaro LS: 2%
Camaro 1LT: 4%
Camaro 2LT: 10%
Camaro 1SS: 7%
Camaro 2SS: 77%

While the enthusiasm for the 2010 Camaro is music to the ears of ailing Chevy dealerships, the overwhelming demand for the Camaro SS and the resulting number of “sold” orders already received are rapidly threatening to exceed the number of SS models that have been allocated through September of 2009.

Nice title…….why don’t you go do a little research on your topic and stop copying your content from other websites. Guess that’s what they teach in school now…….

You’re probably an Obama-backer….that would explain a lot.

  2. Dante says:

I agree with Nelson. That’s a pretty cheap shot to drag a lame stereotype like that around just to get hits on a pretty much empty article. For the next Cadillac model debut, are you going to say “Ganglords and drug dealers check it out, Caddy’s got a b!tchin new pimp wagon headed your way!”?

  3. Suzanne Denbow says:

@Dante: Depends on the Cadillac model. CTS-V? No. Escalade? Damn straight, playa.

  4. Bumblebee says:

Wow…the tobacco comment. Nice, I’m guessing your journalism degree came from an online college – not a very reputable one at that. I am well educated young woman and I bring in a very nice salary. I do not chew tobacco or live in a trailer home, nor do I have any credit card debt. I ordered a 2010 Camaro last week. Not everyone wants to drive a bland boring car. And not everyone is on the Honda/Toyota bandwagon. So instead of being a judgemental b**tch about who will be driving/buying this car, why not sit back and wait for the numbers? Like a real, informed journalist would?

  5. Deartháir says:

Oh Bumblebee, you need to learn not to be so sensitive on this topic.

No, I really, really mean it. You NEED to learn not to be so sensitive about it, because like it or not, that is what 85% of people will be thinking about you when they see it. I was sitting in one at a car show, trying to snap some photos, and in the five minutes I was there, I heard the same series of jokes probably three or four times. “Oh, son, you need to get out of that car, you don’t have the mullet to fit in there.” or, “Do they actually check if you own a mobile home when you buy one?”

If you’re that touchy on the subject, you really shouldn’t have ordered one, because I’ll bet money you’re going to get jokes like that one on a daily basis. Have you considered taking up chewing tobacco so you have something to spit at the people who make them?

  6. Scroggzilla says:

So remember, Suzanne. The Camaro isn’t just for rednecks…..humorless douchebags like it too.

  7. dtodd says:

Over-hyped? I don’t recall seeing even a single Camaro commercial on the TV. This car doesn’t need hype…just look at it, and once you turn the key…I’ll stop there, just try it for yourself. But chewing tobacco? WTF does that have to do with it? I’m pure lib, but some on our side I just don’t understand.

  8. Dr Scum says:

I don’t appreciate being called scum because I like the new Camaro. It sucks when someone who is not a true car person takes ignorant, stereotypical shots at something they could never understand. I don’t like minivans, kias, or most SUVs; but I understand why people (like you) do. Not liking something because you don’t understand it is the basis for much of the suffering in human history. Evolve lady.

  9. Ray says:

    Nelson? WTF?

Non-sequetor of the week: “Probably an Obama backer”… is that your shorthand for everyone who you don’t agree with? You need to get over it, he’s the president and you’re still nobody. That’s just life, Camaro don’t enter into it.

I was perusing the WEB to see how many 2010 Camaros have sold so far. I stumbled onto this page. Too many folks getting upset about something that does not matter. I was in high school in the 80’s… old school redneck recently reformed. I have always wanted an SS and love my SS2. Now making good 6 figure income… not sure what that has to do with anything but bumblebee seems to thing its important. Advice to you all, just climb in the car, turn the key, and relax.
