So let’s say you’ve finally saved enough rubles to treat yourself to the off-roader of your dreams, a Mitsubishi Pajero (similar to our Montero Sport). Fueled by vodka and the human desire to explore parts unknown, you set off for your local Jeep trail. When this doesn’t prove exciting enough, you decide to go off on your own, like a true pioneer. After all, the Pajero has won Paris Dakar, so it should be able to climb a dirt slope, right?

And here’s where lack of training in off-road driving takes over. The answer, of course, is “yes, a Pajero can climb a steep grade, as long as you don’t try to do it sideways”. The driver didn’t get that particular memo, but I guarantee the lesson is permanently burned in his brain now. On the plus side, he no longer has to worry about scratching his paint or denting his bodywork, so his rig is truly trailworthy. Kick out the windshield and soldier on, comrade, because adventure awaits you.
