Living in New York City does have some privileges. We have some of the best restaurants on the planet, our museums are outstanding and from a melting pot perspective, we are simply the King-Schwing as far as diversity goes. We’re also home to the NYPD, which is in my humble opinion, the greatest police force on the planet. These guys help keep everyone in check and at the end of the day, do a great job of keeping us safe and sound. In order to do this however they need the proper equipment combined with the latest and greatest in technology. Enter now the “Rumbler”, a new form of police siren that can not only be heard, but felt as well. By utilizing ultra low frequency sound-waves, pedestrians can actually feel patrol cars coming at them when the “Rumbler” is activated. This is especially good considering that 90% of New Yorkers are constantly either plugged into an iPod or on their cell phones. The “Rumbler” was developed in the hopes that they would feel patrol cars coming when they were on the move. As for their effectiveness… I’ll let you know as soon as I get blasted by one.
