2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD: RideLust Review

Last year, Porsche was up in arms after the Nissan GT-R lapped Germany’s famed Nürburgring in a mere 7 minutes and 29 seconds, beating the Porsche 911 Turbo’s 7:54 time by a considerable margin. Incensed, Porsche called shenanigans on the ‘Ring times and accused Nissan of using special aftermarket performance tires to gain an unfair advantage. After exchanging several tersely worded press releases, Nissan’s time was left to stand and Porsche stalked off to quietly sulk in the corner.
Today, however, the battle rages anew. The next-gen Nissan GT-R Series II has completed its first official run around The Ring today, finishing with an official time of 7 minutes, 27.57 seconds. Dismissing the 911 Turbo altogether, Nissan has indicated that their target is the Corvette ZR1 which holds a current lap time of 7:22. Lagging just a few seconds behind, Nissan will be hitting the track again tomorrow to take another stab at unseating the champion and we will certainly keep you posted on the updates.
