2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review
It’s like deja vu all over again, only this time it’s Ford in the NHTSA’s crosshairs, not Toyota. The NHTSA has opened a formal investigation into reports of pedal entrapment on Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans, specifically when the all weather floormats are used in conjunction with the standard, carpeted floormats. Should we even have to tell you not to do that?
To date, the NHTSA has verified three examples of pedal entrapment when the mats are stacked. No complaints of entrapped pedals causing accidents have been documented to date. If this proceeds to a full blown recall, it will affect some 250,000 model year 2010 Fusions and Milans. Stay tuned for further details, but in the mean time, don’t stack your floormats. Ever.
