The redesigned Chevrolet Malibu first hit the streets in 2008 and with it came a resurgence in style and quality that had been absent in Chevrolet’s mid-sized cars for quite some time. The car was beautifully styled with soft lines, a European look and feel, and an interior that was simply gorgeous for a car sold at its price point. Basically Chevrolet was onto something good and they knew it. It’s now 2011 and Chevrolet is getting ready to take the wraps off of its next generation Malibu, a car which will be sold worldwide and is aimed at challenging all those who oppose it in the mid-sized market segment.
“This Malibu takes Chevrolet’s established and award-winning nameplate to new places and introduces it to new audiences around the world,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet. “Whether the Malibu is sold in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, or Australia, it has been engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of customers around the world.”
Since the new Malibu is set to be a global seller, Chevrolet made sure to put in some long hours on the design front so that it would appeal to consumers worldwide. We’ve been told to look for a more aggressive and sporty design, with certain design cues being lifted from performance cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette. The new redesigned Malibu is set to be unveiled at 8:30 p.m. EDT on April 18 at “http://www.facebook.com/chevrolet” so make sure to mark those calendars of yours so you don’t miss it!
