Do you have more money than common sense? Do you absolutely, positively have to be the first on your block with a new toy, regardless of what it costs? Did you miss out on the second production Camaro Convertible at the Barrett-Jackson Auction last month? Then I’ve got some good news for you, Mr. Big Spender: Neiman Marcus is offering a special edition 2011 Camaro Convertible for $75,000, or roughly an 80% price premium compared to a 2011 Camaro SS Convertible sold by a Chevy dealer.
Of course you do get to claim that yours is a “special edition”, wearing Deep Bordeaux paint (with ghost stripes), a color matched fabric top, a matte silver windshield frame and unique 21” wheels. On the inside, you’ll get tan and black leather seating and exterior color matched dash inserts and door panels. You’ll also get the standard amenities of a Camaro SS Convertible, including Brembo brakes, a Boston Acoustics stereo and a 400 horsepower 6.2 liter V8 mated to a 6 speed automatic. If you know how to shift gears yourself, you can get an additional 26 horsepower with the six speed manual transmission.
Only 100 examples will be built for the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, so you’d better act quick if you want one. If you miss out, don’t worry: Mike and I will be building limited edition 2011 RideLust Camaro Convertibles, so stay tuned for details. Ours won’t be officially endorsed by GM, but they will come with pre-shredded rear tires, bedded brake pads and an interior. We’ll even throw in fishnet stockings from the RideLust spokesmodel, just as soon as we hire one. Hit us up early, because at $70,000 I’m sure our limited edition Camaros won’t last, either.
