Ford Mustang II

The Ford Mustang II is perhaps the most hated of all the Mustangs. Built from 1974–1978, it was, for all intents and purposes, a raging sales success selling over 400,000 units in its first year of production. It was smaller and lighter than previous models, and was meant to combat the fuel crises of the early 1970’s. However, by the end of its life cycle, enthusiasts wanted more power and better performance. Today there seems to be a resurgence in these little pony cars as people are finally starting to realize (some 30 years later) that these actually were good little cars with big personalities.

At around 140hp 250tq those things were almost a liability on the road. This reminds me of the camaro vs mustang shootout in 1999. Despite the camaro Z28 producing significantly more power and being better in nearly every possible way the mustang gt outsold it by a considerable margin. It would seem in the camaro vs mustang war whichever car is worse is the one that sells the most. Think on it.
