Morgan Freeman Involved In Car Crash, Totals 1997 Nissan Maxima
In Hollywood ride news, Morgan Freeman has been hospitalized after reportedly being involved in an accident on Sunday night. According to TMZ [or "The World Is Ending], the accident occurred around 11:30 pm on Highway 32 in Batesville, Mississippi.
Apparently, Freeman lost control of his Maxima, careened off the highway and flipped several times before coming to a stop in a ditch [let the records indicate that we took the high road and refrained from making any "Driving Miss Daisy" references...but we SO wanted to]. Both Freeman and his passenger were freed from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life. Despite the severity of the accident, after being removed from his Maxima, Freeman was still conscious and alert. After speaking to authorities, Freeman was then airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee where he is being treated for a broken shoulder and arm.
Although authorities confirmed the accident did take place, details as to its cause are still being gathered [Freeman's car was reportedly the only one involved]. Although no evidence has been offered to support the theory one way or the other, at least one news source has eluded to the possible involvement of alcohol.

Well, half right. Mr. Freeman was driving his friend’s car. The friend was the passenger during the accident. I suppose so far as the comment in your article about possible alcohol involvement, readers should refer back to the snide remark about the famous actor driving such a lowly nine year old car. geesh.

It wasn’t a snide remark, I was impressed that Freeman was grounded enough to drive a “regular” car.
And when I read the speculation about the involvement of alcohol, I was a little irritated – Freeman is a decent guy, I’d hate to see his name run through the mud.
That’s all I was saying – sorry the wires got crossed.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol stated that alcohol was not a factor in the accident, so I really didn’t get the point about the “one news source”.
Freeman had moved back home to Mississippi to live a “regular” life, or as much so as a successful Hollywood actor can be. I’m sorry that I misunderstood you. When you wrote “drives”, it seemed to infer that he owned the car. I’m sure he owns several, one of which I may have read about at ridelust, and is worth about half a million $.

An “article” [I use the term loosely here] I read from an entertainment source threw in the obligatory “Authorities aren’t sure whether alcohol was involved or not” line. It must have been written before the Highway Patrol had released official data – so thank you for the clarification – and thanks for reading.

Oh Geez, relax. He is fine and recovering. I thought the same thing…”Freeman was driving a 1997 Maxima?” WHaaaaa?!?! In fact, all things being equal I’m HAPPY he was driving a Maxima and not a Ferrari, now THAT would have been sad.
