Mitsubishi make some nice cars; but most Americans couldn't tell you the names of the various models, save perhaps for the Evo.

The Gallant was, for years, an especially nice looking car, priced several thousand dollars below the Camry and Accord. But few people shopped Mitisubishi stores.

Last time I was in Troy, Michigan, the amount of Japanese cars on the Big Beaver Road was next to none. So while it might make sense in that regard, for Mitsubishi to not stage something at NAIS since it figures there aren't many customers in the heartland, it sort of becomes self-fufilling prophecy with this. Don't look for them to come back.
