The Ferrari California is a car that was never that well received by Ferrari fans, in fact it’s more or less the red headed step child of Ferrari’s current line up. Understand that it is by no means a bad car as it does perform beautifully, it’s just that it doesn’t really grab us in the same way that the 458 Italia or the 599 does. Think of the California as an Italian alternative to say a Mercedes-Benz SL550. Yes it’s nice and yes it’s fast, but at the end of the day it’s still just an expensive way of getting you from point A to point B.
Now it seems that Cornes & Co., a leading Ferrari importer in Japan, is now offering a limited edition version of the California exclusively to Japanese customers. New 5-spoke diamond polished wheels are forged with a red prancing horse on the center cap and titanium bolts. Then there is the new carbon fiber fuel cap, door handles and a pair of carbon fiber side skirts. Upgrades to the California are cosmetic only and while they do enhance the looks of the car, I doubt they’re worth the extra coin.
