Scripted reality has obviously been good to The Hills star Lauren Conrad. Spotted mere months ago in a brand new black Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 droptop, Conrad has traded up to a sleek silver Audi R8. From the pictures alone we couldn’t tell if it was a V8 or, the object of our heated desire, a 5.2 FSI quattro V10, so we did a quick Google search and came up with 2 interesting bits of information: 1.) Conrad’s new car is old news, and 2.) It’s not really “her” car.

Apparently, the R8 Conrad’s been pictured with isn’t hers at all but rather a loaner from Audi intended to drum up a little publicity. What’s more, Conrad isn’t the only one to serve as Audi’s unofficial brand ambassador and is joined on the list by fellow celebrities like Don Cheadle. Upon discovering that, we almost titled this post “Where the white women at?” but then we realized we were confusing Don Cheadle with Cleavon Little again.
