2007 Lamborghini Murciealgo

It’s Monday, so you know we have to hit you with at least one recall story. This time it’s Lamborghini, calling Murcielago coupes and roadsters back to pasture (the dealership) to check out a faulty fuel pump mount weld. Under certain circumstances, the weld can fail and cause a leak of gasoline from the fuel tank. Do I even need to tell you this is a fire hazard?

The recall only affects 428 model year 2007 and 2008 cars, and owners will be contacted by Lamborghini. Dealers will replace the fuel tank assembly when the recall kicks off next month, but customers with questions should call their local Lamborghini dealership.

Like the customers wouldn’t have their “executive assistant” call

Especially since Lamborghini really doesn’t have a national customer service hotline. Good luck tracking down a warm body who has details on the recall.

…wait… robots can fail at welding ? There is an Italian welder laughing somewhere.
