Since the vaguely obscene title of our blog frees us from adhering to the same codes of professionalism and maturity upheld by other auto blogs, we have no compunction about admitting we spent a good 1-2 minutes giggling over how “leaked VG” sounds very similar to “leaked VD.”
Scheduled to debut in Korea later this week at the Seoul Motor Show, the Kia VG Concept is a full-size premium sedan that shares a platform with the Hyundai Azera (don’t worry, we have only the vaguest idea of what the Hyundai Azera is too). Although the Kia VG will make its inaugural debut bearing the “Concept” badge, the prototype pictured above apparently differs by only the slightest of margins from the production-ready variant, giving us a clear indication of what the VG will look like. Under the hood, the Kia VG will be optionally offered with either a 2.4L Theta I4 or a 3.5L Lambda V6, the former which will most likely be Korea-exclusive.
Slated to hit the Korean market in early fall 2009, the Kia VG won’t appear in North America until summer 2010 and will be completely bypassing the UK market altogether.
