Jaguar “Leaping Cat” Motorcycle Unveiled [Insert LOLCat Caption Here]
Built by South Yorkshire-based Polar Cycles, the Jaguar “Leaper” bike is the product of creative genius and professional interior designer, Barend Hemmes. Based on renderings sketched by Hemmes, the Leaper bike is a 6-foot long, full scale fiberglass model of the Jaguar corporate emblem morphed into a fully functioning motorcycle. Assembled from a 1200cc Buell 97 S3 Thunderbird purchased off eBay, the Leaper maxes out at 50 mph – but much faster than that and onlookers wouldn’t be able to appreciate the superior craftsmanship it took to build the bike. As Hemmes explained to the Daily Times, “‘I did all the fibreglass bodywork with a sculptor and the guys from Polar Cycles did the stainless-steel frame. The finished product was so much better than I ever expected. It’s a labour of love.
