It looks like something more suited to setting a straight line land-speed record than running around a road course. However the DeltaWing you are viewing was designed for just that. Conceived to run in the IZOD IndyCar Series, this car was designed to be the first in the next evolution of open-wheel racing machines. It’s lighter, more efficient and uses a smaller displacement engine combined with enhanced aerodynamics to push the limits of what was previously thought possible. This is what happens when you ditch the original rulebook and let innovation and advanced design take over.

  1. The innovation I can admire, however the front wheels just do not look right. The very fact that it seems to work is baffling. I am interested to see how it works in the races and if it is durable enough for long distance racing.
