2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD: RideLust Review
This video shows that Hyundai’s South African ad agency has a sense of humor, even if their U.S. agency is stuck on the boring. I get James May cast as a turtle, and Richard Hammond as a hamster is a bit obvious. Jeremy Clarkson as a gnu threw me at first, but then I realized he actually does look like a gnu. Minus the horns, of course.
So the real question here is will we see The Stag ring out a Hyundai Genesis in the next installment? Will The Hamster become part of hamster sandwich? Will Captain Slow finish the airbag installation in his shell? The real season of Top Gear starts on June 27th, so we can stop caring about these Hyundai ads then.
I don’t think these ads are great, and I don’t think they are dissing TG either. My wife likes the Kia animal ads better than me, but hey, Hyundai is making all the right decisions now. They seem to know their market, and are making the right connections with it through good cars and good advertising. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Go Hyundai!
